Septic Tanks

Installation of on-site sewage management systems requires approval from Council under the Local Government Act 1993. The type of system approved will be determined by the site (soil) conditions and the potential loading and flow rate of the system.

Council regulation of on-site sewage management systems is designed to protect the public health as well as the environment.
