Waste Oil Collection Facilities
As part of its ongoing environmental protection initiatives, Urana Shire Council has installed two waste oil collection facilities in the Shire.

Those collection points have been provided at the following locations:

• URANA:  Urana Waste Disposal Centre on the Boree-Creek Road (approximately 6 kms from Urana township).  The centre is open between 12.00 noon and 5.00 p.m. every Friday, and between 11.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. every Sunday.  Waste oil will be received during those hours.

• RAND:  Hehirs Transport Yard, Kooba Street, Rand.  Prior arrangements should be made by contacting Urana Shire Council on (02) 6930 9100 before arrival.  Access to the waste oil collection point may be gained via the laneway running behind the Hehirs Transport premises.

The installation of these two waste oil collection facilities was made possible by funding from the Commonwealth Government under the Product Stewardship for Oil Program, with the assistance of the Riverina Eastern Regional Organisation of Councils (REROC).
