Youth Services
Urana Shire Council is actively supporting youth activities within the Shire by assisting parent volunteers in the establishment of youth centres in both Urana and Oaklands.
Council also provides access and encourages local schools to use the Shire facilities, free of charge, for a variety of activities including cross country runs and inter-school sporting events.
Currently, Council is considering a joint initiative with the Greater Hume and Lockhart Shires to employ a youth worker to provide further support to the Shires’ youth in accordance with the priorities outlined in its Social and Community Plan.
Each year, Council supports and encourages the participation of younger members of the Shire in Youth Week and encourages children in the celebration of Local Government Week.
Contact Council for more information on youth services in Urana Shire or to offer suggestions on youth activities. |
